(An organization, team, military unit, or a crew of cowboys!)
Saddle up and welcome to "The Outfit," where we're on a mission to redefine aging and empower individuals of any age to live their best lives – free of charge. We aren’t here to peddle snake oil. While we may earn a few dimes if you use our links to make purchases at the General Store (Amazon), it won't cost you a nickel extra!
Our aim is to round up a wealth of information across three crucial areas and corral it into one convenient space – this site and its associated YouTube channel. We aim to save you the trouble of rustling through countless sources: some accurate, some only half-true, and some as crooked as a sidewinder! Our mission is simple: to help you get your life back in the saddle and out on the trail.
Over the past two years leading up to our 2024 roundup, we've been wrangling and sifting through a heap of information piled higher than cow dung. We've organized it and provided references, links, and resources whenever we could. We ain't claimin’ to have invented anything revolutionary. Think of us as your personal guides, like wranglers at a rodeo cutting out a steer you pick. We'll show you the options, but it's your call how you want to ride.
Now, let's chew the fat for a spell about "The Outfit." It's more than a name—it's a symbol of camaraderie, teamwork, and shared identity. When you join us, you become part of something bigger than a prairie sky. Drawing inspiration from my Texan roots, I reckon us as a posse of cowboys, riding together toward a common goal. In the 1800s, that goal might have been driving cattle to market, but for us it's achieving healthy longevity in Spirit, Mind, and Body. And you're not a spectator … you're a member of our crew.
As for the term "Kicking Ass," it's more than just a catchy phrase. It embodies the grit, resilience, and determination of the Old West. It's about being your best self and celebrating your triumphs. The following seven definitions capture the spirit of our journey, especially considering that some of us are approaching or are already over 70. If you're ready to kick ass and take the reins of your health and well-being, then you're in the right saloon!
Here’s those definitions of Kicking Ass I promised:
Something or someone that's truly incredible.
If something kicks ass, it’s exceptionally cool.
Striving to be the best at something.
Excelling and being awesome—kickass!
Embodying a superhero, rescuing those in danger. (Drovers rescuing wayward cows!)
Representing excitement and fun.
A phrase expressing genuine happiness for someone (“Wow… you are Kicking Ass!”)
The Outfit began as an idea in July 2023 when I stumbled upon "Kicking Ass After 50" by Dr. Ken D. Berry, M.D., and Zane Griggs. Their insights into proper nutrition and holistic wellness opened my eyes to a new way of living. I dug my spurs in and rode headfirst into their teachings, transforming my grub, exercise routine, and overall lifestyle. No more saloons for me! My results were as shocking as a lightning strike on a clear day, and I knew I had to share my saga with others.
My meet & greet with Dr. Berry and his "PHD Tribe" (Proper Human Diet) occurred about six months prior, thanks to my close friend Mark Little who enthusiastically shared insights into this way of eating. Admittedly, I initially thought Mark was plumb loco … that maybe he’d been thrown off his horse and landed on his head! But the more I rode along using my telescope to check out the landscape and ropin’ in the facts one by one, the more convinced I became that I was ridin’ with the right outfit. (Psst … the grub was top-notch … steaks every day!)
And so, my friends, "Kicking Ass After 70" was born. It ain't just a YouTube channel or a website—it's a stampede! It's about embracing the two greatest commandments: to love God and care for ourselves so we can love and care for others. If you're ready to join us on this trail ride and journey towards a long, joyous, and healthy life, then saddle up, climb up, and welcome to "The Outfit."
Oh – shoot! I almost forgot … as you ride with us, remember this: it's never too late to start a new chapter. Whether you choose to ride alongside us or blaze your own trail, we wish you the best of luck. And if you ever find yourself lost out on the range, know that we're always here for you. After all, we're all in this together!
